Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer
I really wish I could say I love this, but unfortuenately I don't. It's an odd texture, like the love child of a lotion and gel, and it feels extremely greasey on the skin. After just washing my face in the morning I don't want it feeling greasey again. For me it took so long to dry up even a little bit. Now this is the first primer I've ever tried, so I was actually expecting to like it but it really fell through for me. By mid-day my foundation really looked bad and actually seemed to look darker than normal. On white as hell skin, suddenly being tan doesn't exactly work. This really didn't live up to my expectations.

Nude Lip Quick Tip

Low End. High End. Middle End? Doesn't matter. I've failed miserably at finding the perfect-for-me nude lip lipstick. So I've said screw em all and just use a teeny tiny bit of my foundation (currently CoverGirl Smoothers in 705 Ivory) with the squeeze tube style Carmex over top. Instant glossy nude lips.

Maybelline "The Falsies" Mascara

I saw this mascara in the local drugstore and was immediately quite curious over it. I had just recently bought a new tube of mascara so didn't really want to buy it but everytime I went to the drugstore I eyed it up pretty good. After using the new mascara a few times and not particularly liking it (Rimmel's waterproof "Sexy Curves", takes forever to try and isn't very waterproof) I decided to give this a go. It cost about $7 CAD, and I have seen it retailed between $6-$13. Maybelline boasts:
The Falsies Mascara is designed to give the appearance of no gaps and spaces. In a wink lashes you didn’t even know you had look visibly thickened!
Now where it doesn't give the look of false eyelashes whatsoever, I do like how it evenly coats lashes and seperates and it does make mine look longer and thicker. I also enjoy the flexible wand and the spoon shaped brush, but that's just my personal preference.

L.A. Girl Rockstar Nail Polish in Groupie

This nail polish is seriously fabulous. It's a gorgeous grape-y, royal-y purple full of sparkle and bling. The only downfall is that you need two coats but that's not surprising as it is a bit darker. It looks amazing on both my mom and I, and my mom wants to buy a back-up of it, she loves it so much. It would probably look good on any skintone as well just the shade of purple it is. Now at the moment I don't have a picture of it on myself so I just jacked off the net. It actually looks a hell of a lot nicer and more sparkle-y in real life.

M.A.C. Dazzleglass

Now I know that M.A.C. isn't drugstore makeup by any means but I thought I would post this anyway.
The other day I went on a city trip, (I live in the middle of nowhere, not even a Wal-Mart for an hour, both directions) and I happened to stop at the M.A.C. counter. Since I am on a search for a nude lipstick I tried some of the lipsticks on, (and didn't find one that I really liked) and I tried some of the lipglosses, namely a Dazzleglass. Oh my god. I swear it was like glueing my lips together. What the hell is that crap? Even after taking it off, while walking around the mall my lips still felt super sticky. I found it disgusting. I don't know why anyone would want to spend $16.50 on glue, despite how pretty the colors are. I'll stick to my cheapie glosses thank you.

Honey and Sea Salt Scrub

Oh. My. God. My face feels so amazing. About a year ago I had a really bad rash on my cheeks and managed to get rid of it using just warmed up honey. So tonight while cruising the net I decided to do a honey and sea salt exfoliating mask to try and get rid of some clogged pores that OXY and Spectro Acne pads couldn't get. One night rid me of annoyances that months of acne pads couldn't.
I used (in rough proportions):
Two tablespoons honey
One teaspoon water
One teaspoon sea salt
I heated up the honey until it was melted. Mixed in the sea salt. Let it sit for a few minutes. (Apparently putting honey in the microwave for forty seconds will scald you. Test on your fingers!) Then the honey will thicken up just a bit so mix in the water, preferably warm. Then just use your fingers and slather it on. I left it on for about fifteen minutes, making sure to have a towel around my chest in case there was dripping. Then just scrub it off with a warm, wet cloth. Your face should feel fabulous. Throw on your favorite moisturizer to top it all off. I would suggest only doing this a few times a week since the sea salt is very exfoliating.

*Honey fights infection and aids tissue healing and also helps reduce inflammation and scarring.
*Salt is a natural anti-bacterial.
*Table salt is stripped of most of its healing minerals, and therefor may not be as effective. Sea salt  is best

Rimmel's Airy Fairy Review

I have decided to start this blog off with a review. The infamous Rimmel's Airy Fairy to be exact. I'm not going to lie I didn't quite like it... at first. After a few uses I adore it. It's not sticky or drying and actually smells good. While showing it off to a few friends they adore the smell. My only issue is I can't quite place what the scent is. A bit fruity perhaps? At any rate it's not overwhelming, thankfully. The packaging is actually rather cute as well. A maroon-esque tube with a slanted top and the trademark crown on the lid. This is my go-to color for the moment. I do hope to find a bit more of a nude pink eventually but until then this will do wonderfully.
I apologize for the semi-blurry picture.
